Cartagena de Indias

Cupula de San pedro

Freshly painted beautiful dome of San Pedro Claver's Church. Modeled after Leonardo's Saint Peter Basillica in Rome. Cleverly constructed using "Brunellesqui's method". Invented by the named architect to erect the famous "Duomo" in Florence. CLICK ON THE PICTURE to read about the extraordinary life of saint Pedro Claver, whose deeds amerited the construction of this enormous building.

Calle Don Sancho

One of the most picturesque streets in the old city. Rows after rows of balconies frame the beautiful cathedral spire in the background. This street was home for my family and brings back lots of childhood memories. Not a bad view to come home to huh?

Castillo de San Felipe

Looming in the distance... still guarding its precious city... the great fortress of San Felipe is the largest military construction left by the Spanish Empire on the new world.

Paseo de los Martires

"The Walkway of the Martyrs" is a rectangular plaza between the clock tower and the lively theater district. It gets its name from the several stone busts it has along its path, of all the heroes who lost their lives during Cartagena's rebellion for independence.
